  5. Dalton, Georgia – The Blunt House, home of the first mayor, is located in Dalton and can be rented for special occasions. The house is furnished with historic period pieces donated by the Blunt family.
  6. Fort Payne, Alabama – In 1989, Fort Payne held the world record for “Largest Cake Ever Baked”.
  7. Murfreesboro, Tennessee – The town was renamed in tribute to Hardy Murfree, a Revolutionary War Hero.
  8. Oak Ridge, Tennessee – In 1942, the United States federal government chose Oak Ridge as a site for developing materials for the Manhattan Project.
  9. Morristown, Tennessee – There are more than 30 golf courses within a 50 mile radius of Morristown.
  10. LaFayette, Georgia – LaFayette was originally founded as Chattoga. Then, it was renamed LaFayette in 1836 after Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, the French aristocrat who fought in the American Revolutionary War.
